Sarah Davenport features Wilmington photography in Philadelphia debut
“Portraits of A Queen”
by Sarah Davenport
For Davenport's debut in Philadelphia, her series featuring fine art film portraits in Wilmington's pre-construction Queen Theatre will be on display at Square Peg Artery & Salvage in Rittenhouse Square throughout January.
The medium-format film images were captured in the vacant treasure as it was left in 1959. And after much deliberation, pioneers in the community have taken The Queen under their wings and partnered with Philadelphia’s World Cafe Live to create an Arts and Entertainment venue like no other.
“The series is a labour of love. A love for art, history, and the opportunity to be part of something that will change the face of a city.”
A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the Light Up The Queen Foundation.
