ArtPrize Blog

ArtPrize is a fantastic ongoing community generated event in Grand Rapids, MI, conceived by local "grassroots" arts organizations. The project organizes established major regional art venues, local "for-profit" businesses and empty available retail spaces. ArtPrize unites these venues with artists in an effort to showcase Grand Rapids as a "destination" for artists and the arts in general, while offering potential financial rewards from participation.

NWAA artists need apply - all varieties of work within our membership can find a host venue as part of this project.

Last years top prize ($250,000) went to a single oil painting...

ArtPrize currently offers the largest single exhibition award for an artist in the United States...offered by the rapidly re-developing post-industrial city of Grand Rapids, MI.

hey friends

Didn't know if you guys were aware/already held/were interested in this? It's actually a few months old but I thought it might be interesting to do one in Wilmington, if it hasn't already been organized. It's a project by Temporary Services calling for artists and arts organizations around the nation to "make an exhibition...[and] host a discussion in your town"... if you go to the distribution page, Delaware is not represented, as they "need more contacts"... Check it!
